David Cameron visited the 20 year-old Low Power Radio Solutions of Witney which makes its ‘easy-Radio’ low power radio modules for the licence-free bands.
The picture shows the PM with Sandie Sharples who is the customer service director of LRPS and md John Sharples.
“We have traditionally manufactured in the UK as our products are complex and high quality,” says John Sharples, “we considered a number of seemingly lower cost overseas alternatives and discovered that by outsourcing our procurement and carefully selecting a new sub-contract manufacturer we were actually able to reduce the final cost of our product by over 10% while also retaining the flexibility of manufacturing in the UK.”
LPRS modules are used for industrial and commercial control and communications including security systems for cash in transit, environmental sensors for museums, commercial and industrial premises, sporting event timing systems, tactile learning aids for disabled children, robots and alarm systems etc.
LPRS is growing rapidly. The easy-Radio concept acknowledges the gulf between hardware solutions and actually achieving reliable data transfer. By providing an efficient over-air protocol, accurate signal reception is ensured and range performance is maximised.
An easy-Radio module, tailored to an application, can save weeks of programming time, says the company, and can take the stress out of getting a radio product to market.
