Cognition running Components for Military & Space Electronics event

Cognition will be running the 7th 'Components for Military & Space Electronics' (CMSE Europe) event which is a dedicated conference on the engineering, design, and use of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) electronics in military and space systems.

It will take place from the 25th to 27th June 2012 in Portsmouth, at the Langstone Hotel. There will be a one day workshop and a two day conference with a dedicated exhibition.

The organisers say that CMSE is a technically focused event looking at research in materials and components, new technology and component application advice. It also aims to highlight industry topics such as obsolescence management, tin whiskers, and radiation effects on modern semiconductors.

The workshop day will have two themes: Component Selection for Passive devices and a Counterfeit Component Avoidance Workshop. At present, there are some speaker opportunities available on a variety of topics, but of particular interest, says Cognition, is space industry content. The call for papers can be found at www.cmse-eur.com.

“We believe that this event offers excellent value for money for the quality of speakers and exhibitors participating. We are working closely with our US based partner Components Technology Institute Inc. to ensure we cover the latest information available from both sides of the Atlantic,” said Ian Blackman, Director of Cognition. “There will be plenty of opportunity for delegates to listen to speakers sharing best practice and latest developments on multiple subjects both in the conference sessions and in the networking opportunities throughout the event.”

The cost to attend this three day event is £695 +VAT. This includes refreshments, meals, and presentation notes and a networking dinner on the second evening. Alternatively, it is £325 +VAT for the one day workshop.

Early booking discounts will be available.
