ADI adds fast converters to Xilinx 28nm design platform

Analog Devices has introduced two data converter FPGA mezzanine cards (FMCs) that connect to Xilinx 7 series FPGA evaluation kits, including teh recently announced Kintex-7 FPGA evaluation kit.

The AD9739A D/A converter and AD9467 A/D converter FMC boards include all of the HDL (hardware description language) code and device drivers needed for design prototyping.

The AD9739A FMC board is based on the AD9739A, a 14-bit D/A converter that can be used in cable television and broadband designs to synthesise the cable spectrum up to 1GHz into a single RF (radio frequency) port, while consuming a maximum of 1.1 W of power.

The AD9467 FMC board is based on the AD9467, which is a 16-bit, 250-MSPS A/D converter is designed for high resolution. It achieves a high SFDR (spurious-free dynamic range) of up to 100 dBFS and SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) performance of 76.4 dBFS.

The device’s SFDR is 90 dBFS up to 300 MHz analogue input and jitter is 60femtosecond (root mean square).
