Vicor has unveiled a web-based intermediate bus converter (IBC) simulation tool, claiming it to be the first to interactively model the electrical and thermal performance.
Available to users of the firm's PowerBench, IBC Power Simulation allows designers to account for system interdependencies based upon variables including input voltage range, load conditions, ambient temperature and airflow.
Variables defining external input and output filter elements can be adjusted to trade-off input and output ripple, dynamic performance, and total footprint.
