Grenoble-based MicroOLED has announced a 5.4Mpixel 0.61i. micro-display with SXGA (2,560x2,048) resolution and 16 million colours.
Applications are expected in professional camera and camcorder equipment, night vision systems and head-mounted displays used in surgery.
"With a sub-pixel pitch of 4.7µm by 4.7µm, it is the highest pixel density OLED micro-display available today," said the firm.
Claimed contrast is 100,000:1 max and uniformity is 96%.
"Depending on how one drives the display, it can perform using as low as 0.2W," said the firm. "MicroOLED achieves this even when the fully digital video input is embedded."
